In this workshop from the Hands on tools series, participants were asked to move from 2D to 3D and back to 2D in the design process. They started by writing down their thoughts on the topic of work-study balance in analogue form on a piece of photographic cardboard and folding it into a cube.
Using the 3D application Kiri, the participants scanned their respective analogue cubes and created a digital 3D model of the object. Using the Meshmixer programme, they deformed and deconstructed their cubes at will and created screenshots of their 3D artefacts.
The final step revisited the theme of work-study balance and participants used their visual material to design a typographic poster.
